The Polyamory Pride Flag was designed by Jim Evans in 1995. The blue stripe represents openness and honesty among all partners, the red stripe represents love and passion, and the black stripe represents solidarity with those who must hide their polyamorous relationships from the outside world. In the center of the flag is a gold Greek lowercase letter "pi" (which shares the same first letter as polyamory), celebrating the infinite selection of partners available to polyamorous people. The gold represents the value that is placed on emotional attachment to others, as opposed to merely primarily physical relationships.
